Closely examine an inquiry item that sparks curiosity.

investigate

Determine the context. Read the anchor text, define terms, create timelines. Establish a well-rounded understanding of the time period or event.

interrogate

Step back. Analyze all of the data and ask "why" questions.  Dive into primary sources to understand thinking from the past.  Hypothesize the answer to your compelling question.

interpret

Construct your conclusion. Present your answer to the compelling question, using evidence.  Revisit the inquiry item. How has your understanding changed?
